Notice from the City of Burnaby

This a copy of the notice sent to all coaches.

Dear Sport User Groups,

Effective tomorrow, Wednesday March 18th, all City of Burnaby public facilities, including all outdoor sports fields and diamonds will be closed until further notice.

All contracts for organized games, practices, camps, academies and events will be cancelled. Full credits/refunds are available for any remaining dates on a contract or for paid upcoming bookings.  We are currently working on dates up until the end of April, 2020.

All field houses and change rooms will also be closed (although washrooms will remain open).

For more information on the situation in Burnaby click HERE. Although the list does not include all outdoor sports fields and diamonds specifically, they will be closed to formal bookings as of Wednesday March 18th.

The decision to close the facilities is guided by information and directive issued by the provincial and federal governments for the purposes of containing and mitigating the transmission of COVID-19 in the community. The closure will affect many Burnaby residents and their children however we are in a critical time and we must undertake drastic measures before it is too late to respond.

The allotment team will be managing credits/refunds in the next coming weeks and will contact you with further information as best we can. We appreciate your patience during this time.

All the best to you and yours,

Lyndsay Anderson
